BREAKING NEWS: Drew Starkey Becomes the New Face of Dior
In an exciting development, Drew Starkey has been appointed as a brand ambassador for Dior, joining the ranks of notable figures associated with the esteemed fashion house.
The star of the popular Netflix series "Outer Banks" previously featured in Loewe’s spring 2025 campaign. He was also present to lend his support to Jonathan Anderson during his debut at Dior this past June. This month marks a significant milestone as Starkey has officially been introduced as the fourth new ambassador for men’s fashion under Anderson's creative direction, just in time for his upcoming second menswear show on Wednesday.
Starkey and Anderson crossed paths while working on the film "Queer", directed by Luca Guadagnino, which is set to release in 2024. Starkey shares the screen with the renowned actor Daniel Craig in this project, while Anderson took on the role of costume designer. He expressed that he felt an instant connection to Starkey, stating, "I was immediately drawn to this talented American actor."
In a heartfelt statement shared exclusively with WWD, Anderson described Starkey as possessing a unique blend of "quiet intensity, raw elegance, and profound humanity." He noted the rare authenticity in Starkey's presence and praised his ability to convey vulnerability with grace. "I’m thrilled that we will continue to collaborate in this exciting new role," he added.
Dior has highlighted Starkey’s distinctive qualities, which include his adventurous spirit, charisma, and unwavering integrity. In addition to the final season of "Outer Banks", audiences can look forward to his performances in Adam Wingard’s action thriller, "Onslaught", and the supernatural horror film "King Snake", where he will share the screen with talents like Margaret Qualley and Michael Shannon.
Expressing his gratitude, Starkey said, "I am incredibly thankful to partner with the Dior family. Jonathan Anderson’s vision beautifully balances tradition with innovative design, and his dedication to craftsmanship has always resonated with me. It is a great honor to collaborate with a brand that epitomizes elegance and timelessness."
Interestingly, while Starkey’s colleague Josh O’Connor, who also previously worked with Loewe, has made a splash by transitioning to Dior, Starkey has yet to make his Dior debut on the red carpet.
